What do ageing people need, what does the world need to survive? Just as ageing people easily get out of breath, the earth is also running out of air. Climate change and ageing are the challenges. What do ageing people need, what does the world need to survive? Are "caring communities" - both in the private and global spheres - the last hope? To explore this on stage, the Senior Lab Zurich has teamed up with the Verein queerAltern Zürich. Are the participants of both communities able to complement their utopias and wishes for successful ageing? Can they manage to grow old better in a diverse environment? Can their playful designs create flourishing landscapes in which everyone grazes together?
With humour and vulnerability, with lightness and depth, 16 senior citizens dare to experiment with "Caring Communities".

The Senior Lab is a theatre laboratory that was launched in 2014/2015 at Miller's in the Tiefenbrunnen Mill in Zurich. Since then, it has been investigating images of age: What self-images are available to ageing people, which ones does society project onto them and what experiences of discrimination arise as a result.</p
The participants focus on age-related topics such as family histories, dying, age and beauty, age and time. In a mixture of research work, workshops, joint retreats, intensive final rehearsals and performances, a unique cultural practice of ageing people is created. In an ageing society, such a theatre laboratory is gaining increasing attention. Today, the Senior Lab has become an important ongoing project in the socio-cultural space of Zurich.
The Senior Lab Zurich is directed by Ron Rosenberg.
